House Project Update

We are back in Iowa. Work is progressing nicely on our house. Below are pictures taken while we were away and some others that I took upon our return. No need for many comments, I guess, as you can see what's what.

The house had two layers of siding on it--a blue vinyl siding and another layer beneath that of masonite siding. Both were removed. Then foam backing was installed and the new siding over that.

We haven't picked out shutters yet, but will add them to the front windows later.

This is the rough-in of the new sunporch.

The sunporch is quite a bit larger than the old porch was. We are excited about this new space.

Mr. Decker: I love your blog! You look pretty happy about that new grand child. We have four, 2 of each. I am a potter and would love to post some of my pottery pictures. I would really appreciate your help. Look for me at "CrackedPotsandShards"

Thanks Cactus

Wow, the house looks terrific. What a change! Funny how a little leak in a bathroom can lead to a whole house update!

Hello to the Deckers. We saw your pictures posted for the Drake/Decker/Frink family reunion. My father is Loren C. Betzer, son of Peter Betzer and Mary Drake, dau. of James E. Drake and Lydia Decker. We have been doing a lot of family history research on the Drakes, Frinks, and Deckers and have a lot of old pictures as well. We would like to attend next year's reunion. We did attend once with Dad many years ago. We were hoping to bring our research with us. We would love to hear from you. David and Elisa Betzer

I love the feeling of having a new siding. It feels like you have a newly built home. The two different colors of siding at the front house are beautiful. It’s like a division between your first and second floor of the house. Also, it’s nice to see that the siding and the roof have the same color. You have a lovely home.
