Victory Park Dedication

I'm a little behind in my posting. Almost a month ago, Kathie and I stopped to see Will, Sandy and Anders on our way to the lake. Anders has for quite some time enjoyed riding one of those bicycle-like striders, and because it was easy to see how he was acquiring good balance skills, I thought that his transition to a bicycle would be very easy. Indeed it was! Here is the 2 year 9 month old Anders posing with his new bicycle. Following that is a rather blurry movie showing his riding skills.

The Saturday we were there, a rededication of the Victory Parkway took place, so there were fun things to do. We walked over to hear the bands.

There was a cockpit from an F4 Phantom fighter jet on display, and kids could sit in it. So, while good old mom waited in line for Anders' turn,

Anders took another bicycle ride with some supervision by his dear old dad.

He shot me a smile as he rode past.

Finally, he got to the front of the line for the jet experience.

I think he thought it was pretty cool, but I'm glad he didn't really understand what it was all about.

The new memorial was very nice, redone in an almost green marble.

There was time for snacks and relaxing before we headed back to the house.

P.S. Anders also showed us the tattoo (temporary) we gave him as one of his Alaska souvenirs. Fruit stickers are also good.
